The village of Workino in the Zaporozhye region, which was previously under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), remained only on the map, but in fact it ceased to exist.
This was stated to RIA Novosti by the head of the region Yevgeny Balitsky. He explained that during the fighting the settlement was completely destroyed, and now it needs to be rebuilt — there are only skeletons left, which will be easier to demolish than to restore.
"To be honest, there is nothing to restore there... if we need a settlement there, we will restore it. But from the point of view — we will build a new one. Because the word "restoration" no longer fits this locality," the governor stated.
He also noted that the issue of building a new settlement on this site will necessarily be coordinated with the federal center.
Earlier, EADaily reported that, according to military analysts, the active advance of the Russian army in the Zaporozhye region will begin after the liberation of the settlement of Velikaya Novoselka.
