In the Donetsk People's Republic, law enforcement officers detained a group of officials suspected of looting during the fighting.
According to Kommersant, the Minister of Industry and Trade Vladimir Ruschak, his assistant Sergey Goloshchapov and the head of the departmental SUE "Trading House "Vtormet" Maxim Soldatov were under investigation.
Among other things, they are charged with embezzlement with the subsequent sale of metal structures from the Azovelectrostal plant in the amount of more than half a billion rubles. Now the accused are in custody in Moscow.
According to the investigation, this organized group, by prior agreement and taking advantage of the fact that military operations are underway on the territory of the republic, seized the property of the Azovelectrostal plant in Mariupol in the amount of at least 518 million rubles.
"It was subsequently implemented through the State Unitary Enterprise "Vtormet“ as scrap metal, and the participants of the scam divided the proceeds among themselves," the publication states.
In the near future, the investigation plans to indict them in the final version. All suspects were given a preventive measure in the form of detention, their assets were arrested to pay off the damage.
Earlier, EADaily reported that ud in Moscow sentenced the former CEO of RZM-Technologies JSC (part of Rostec Group of Companies), Yuri Zozulya, to nine years in prison for receiving especially large bribes.
