Restaurants are being massively closed in Lviv due to the outflow of migrants and the actions of the shopping center, writes Ukrainian Forbes. During 2022-2023, 50 establishments were closed, says Olga Nasonova, director of the Restaurants of Ukraine analytical center.
In the second half of 2024, another fifty establishments are preparing to close, 60% of which worked before the SMO began, the restaurant holding said!Fest. Restaurateurs complain that their earnings are falling sharply, and therefore announce the closure of establishments and the mass dismissal of employees.
"In 2024, about 70% of regular visitors disappeared. Until April 2024, they worked at zero. Then they realized that this was the end," says the former owner of an already closed institution near the Market Square.
The reason is that in 2024, immigrants began to leave Lviv, of which in June 2023 there were 150 thousand. The second factor was the tightening of mobilization in May 2024, when people began to come to the city and leave the house less often.
