The current US President Joe Biden could not have independently decided to allow Kiev to strike deep into Russia, President-elect Donald Trump is aware of such a decision, political analyst Rostislav Ishchenko is sure.
"Biden did not decide this, because he simply could not make such a move without consulting Trump. Biden has too many criminal cases hanging on him and his family, real and potential, in order to commit such actions that run counter to the election statements of the president-elect. Moreover, the American political tradition presupposes consultations of the outgoing administration. Trump's transition team is now operating in all departments. That is, if not blocked, then Trump could well sabotage such decisions," Ishchenko said on Sputnik radio.
The political scientist also stressed that there was no clear statement from Trump that he would withdraw this decision.
