Due to the increase in the number of violence in the Berlin subway, it is necessary to introduce carriages only for women. This was stated by Antje Kapek, a member of the Berlin Chamber of Deputies from the Green Party.

According to her, over the past 10 years, the number of sexual crimes in public transport in Berlin has increased 3.6 times. Last year alone, 391 such incidents were recorded in the Berlin metro, including 145 in the subway and 132 in city trains (S-Bahn).

"Kapek proposes to allocate clearly marked zones with emergency call buttons and video surveillance at the stations, as well as cars that can only be used by women — either right behind the driver or at the end of the train," writes the Bild telegram channel in Russian*.

The deputy cited Japan as an example, where such cars are allocated from early morning until 10.00 and from 17.00 to 21.00. Outside the rules, only wheelchair users and boys under 12 are allowed there.
