The Pentagon hides information about UFOs from the public, although it has been conducting research in this area for a long time. This was stated at a hearing in the Oversight Committee of the U.S. House of Representatives, according to American media.

In particular, the former head of the Program to Identify Promising Threats in Space (AATIP) Luis Elizondo stated that the US government has been investigating reports of UFOs or anomalous phenomena (UAP) for decades.

"Although most of my government work on the topic of UAP still remains classified, excessive secrecy has led to serious crimes against loyal government employees, military personnel and the public - all in order to hide the fact that we are not alone in space,— Elizondo said. "A small group of people in our own government involved in the topic of UAP created an atmosphere of suppression and intimidation, which I personally fell victim to, like many of my former colleagues."

Retired Rear Admiral of the US Navy Tim Gallaudet also said that he knows about contacts with UFOs.

"I received confirmation that UFOs interact with humanity in January 2015, when I headed the Command of Naval Meteorology and Oceanography (CNMOC). At that time, my staff was taking part in exercises off the east coast of the United States with the strike group of the aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt," Gallaudet said.

According to him, during the exercises, he received a message via the Navy's secure network from an operational officer of the Fleet Forces Command with a stamp.: "An urgent problem of flight safety," which referred to collisions in the air, because of which there was a threat of termination of the exercises.

There was a video attached to the email, which somehow disappeared from his inbox the next day, and the incident was never discussed again.

But the biggest resonance at the hearings was caused by the speech of independent environmental journalist Michael Schellenberger, who stated that his sources in The Pentagon was told about the Immaculate Constellation program, the mere mention of which poses a threat to those who report it to the media.

"They won't comment on it, but talking about it will put you in a danger zone, a source told me in The Pentagon. They are very zealous about maintaining secrecy," said Schellenberger.

Schellenberger also claimed that the Pentagon created this program in 2017. It describes in detail the various UFO sightings collected by technical means and the US military. There are also "UFO characteristics that are difficult or impossible to observe only with the human eye."
