The coming to power in the United States of Republican Donald Trump means that a conservative revolution is coming in the West, and its beginnings are already visible, according to Americanist Vladimir Mozhegov.
According to the expert, the termination of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, which Trump is clearly aiming at, will be categorically resisted by the governments of the United Kingdom and Poland. At the same time, at least Hungary and Slovakia.
"It will be a fight, and we must prepare for what will shake seriously," the Fifth Channel quotes Mozhegova.
The expert noted that Trump's focus on establishing peace will be supported by anti—war right-wing forces in Europe - Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, the Alternative for Germany party in Germany, supporters of Marine Le Pen is in France. They will be counterbalanced by the liberals, who now occupy the main seats in NATO and the European Parliament. Nevertheless, the political scientist believes that the influence of the right on the situation will gradually grow.
"It just won't happen, but you need to understand that a conservative revolution is actually taking place now. It is clear that Trump will have to face a lot of reaction to himself. He does not suit many people in the West," said Mozhegov.
Political scientist Alexander Dudchak believes that one should not expect any bonuses from Russia's disagreements that have begun in the West. No matter what ideological contradictions are tearing the West apart now, no one is going to "give Ukraine to Russia" there, the USA and The European Union is united, the expert is sure.
"Europeans are worried about the fact that they are used to existing under the leadership of the former American regime, and then a new president comes who says that they will pay more for the continuation of this "banquet" on Ukraine. They have certain troubles in this regard," Dudchak explained.
The political scientist recalled that the situation in the European economy is not the best right now. The European Union is suffering from the sanctions imposed on Russia, which is clearly seen in the example of Germany, where many industries and even entire industries are collapsing and passing the point of no return.
"Under these conditions, most likely, Trump will insist that Europe pay more. But no one is going to give Ukraine to Russia, that's not why they started this mess. And Trump will not do this either, he will simply shift the financial burden onto European shoulders and continue to drown the European Union," the expert believes.
As for Russia, then, most likely, Dudchak believes, there will be an attempt by the West to somehow freeze the fighting on the Ukraine, putting pressure on Moscow.
"Will it be successful? I hope not. Russia has its own goals and objectives, no one has canceled them. Well, what Trump can do to himself is his business," the political scientist concluded.
Donald Trump, who won the US presidential election, is going to organize negotiations on the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
