The current US administration is hastily trying to send Kiev as much ammunition as possible before President-elect Donald Trump takes office. It is reported by The Wall Street Journal.
We are talking about more than 500 interceptor missiles for Patriot and NASAMS systems.
Ammunition will arrive at Ukraine in the coming weeks and will have to meet the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine by the end of the year, the newspaper writes, citing an American official. By transferring as much military aid to Ukraine as possible before January, the Joe Biden administration allegedly hopes to provide the Kiev regime with a stronger negotiating position with Russia and strengthen the defense of the Square. Before the presidential election, it was planned to deliver the remaining aid to Ukraine by April.
Election results in The United States is jeopardizing the flow of weapons that allowed Ukraine to continue fighting, the newspaper notes.
"According to officials, the Biden administration's desire to send billions of dollars worth of military equipment to Ukraine faces serious logistical hurdles before it leaves, and there is concern that the supplies will deplete the already limited US stocks. These obstacles underscore how the election of Donald Trump has disrupted the US—led campaign to provide assistance to Ukraine, which has suffered serious setbacks on the battlefield in the war against Russia and is now struggling for future supplies of Western weapons that have allowed it to continue fighting," the article says.
