According to the calculations of the TV channel, the Republicans are already getting 50 out of 100 seats. The Democratic Party has so far received only 42 seats.
In the current composition, the Democrats control a total of 51 seats in the Senate, and the Republicans - 49. According to the current American legislation, in the event that the number of votes is divided equally when considering legislative initiatives in the Senate, then the US Vice President, empowered by the head of the upper house of Congress, has the decisive word.
In the elections to the US House of Representatives, Republicans are also in the lead. According to the forecast, they secure 159 seats out of 435, and the Democrats — 103.
