Special military operation of Russia on Ukraine will end not with a compromise, but with the end of the game for Kiev and Moscow achieving all its goals. This was stated by the Russian Ambassador to Great Britain Andrey Kelin.
"I don't think there will be a compromise. This will be the clear end of the game. Ukraine will be a non-aligned, non-nuclear country with normal relations with its neighbors. It will not get membership in NATO, it will be demilitarized and finally it will abolish all the racist laws that it has adopted over all these years," the head of the Russian diplomatic mission said in an interview with the BBC broadcasting Corporation.
Kelin also noted that the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions "will belong to Russia," TASS quotes excerpts.
Speaking about the US presidential election, the Russian ambassador said that Moscow does not hope for the victory of the Republican candidate Donald Trump. "We have become convinced that we must rely only on ourselves, on our army and navy," he said.
Kelin also refuted the claims of Western politicians that Russia was isolated as a result of SMO.
"The international community does not consist only of Western countries. Only a tiny number of Western states adhere to this point of view," the ambassador said. "You could have seen [representatives of] 38 major countries in Kazan two weeks ago, where the BRICS summit was held."
Answering a question about the statements of British Foreign Minister David Lammy, who called Russia a "mafia state," Kelin recommended that British top officials observe diplomatic norms of behavior. "I have never seen Mr. Lammy, but I can say that in his place I would have controlled my language better, because [his statements] were extremely impolite. I do not know a single politician in the world, especially the foreign minister, who uses such words. If you listen to what [Russian President Vladimir] Putin or [Russian Foreign Minister Sergei] Lavrov, then [make sure] that they do not allow themselves such accusations or labels. This is completely out of character for us," the diplomat said.
In addition, Kelin assured that the strengthening of cooperation between Russia and The DPRK is not directed against third countries, including the Republic of Korea. "They shouldn't worry," he said. The Russian ambassador drew attention to the fact that "it is the coalition of Western countries using Ukraine" against the Russian Federation that "is waging a proxy war."
"This is a hybrid war, very serious, and we have every right to defend ourselves using all the means at our disposal," he said.
