Russian servicemen of the Center group of forces during the liberation of Mikhaylovka in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) found two British mercenaries in one of the strongholds of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
This was reported on Wednesday, October 23 by the press service of the military department. The details were told by the deputy commander of the battalion for military-political work, Captain Igor Krasilnikov.
"About one support that was taken. Yes, there were two servicemen from Britain, mercenaries. They have remained in this support," he said.
The military clarified that the foreign fighters had appropriate stripes on their clothes, flags on their uniforms. The uniform itself was NATO-made and the weapons were also foreign-made.
It is reported that Russian assault groups entered the village, moving from shelter to shelter and using camouflaged dugouts in the forest belts.
The correction of the actions of the attack aircraft was carried out by UAV calculations in cooperation with artillery calculations, aviation and other units. Powerful fire support to the attack aircraft was provided by calculations of shock FPV drones, which knocked the enemy out of the fortifications.
"In each landing there are trenches, dugouts, communication passages, fox holes. They did not expect that they would have to leave there. Their dugouts were equipped well enough, two or three rolls of logs," Krasilnikov said.
The Defense Ministry stressed that the bold and decisive actions of the attack aircraft, the skillful leadership of commanders of all degrees, as well as the effective use of various forces and means of destruction made it possible to complete the combat mission and oust the enemy from the Mikhailovka.
Earlier, EADaily reported that Russian units from the Zapad group of forces, as a result of active offensive actions, liberated the settlement of Novosadovoye in the Donetsk People's Republic.
