Equinor company from Norway has confirmed its withdrawal from a joint project with Germany on the construction of a hydrogen pipeline on the territory of Germany. The information is provided by Reuters.
The Norwegians explained this decision by the high cost of construction.
"The hydrogen pipeline turned out to be unfeasible. This also means that plans for hydrogen production will also be suspended," said Magnus Franz Eidsvold, a company spokesman.
The Berliner Zeitung newspaper called the rejection of the Norwegian-German project, which was estimated at "several tens of billions of euros," a powerful blow to the pan-European "green" agenda and personally to the reputation of the Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection of Germany Robert Habeck.
