Near Rostov, a foreigner tried to rape a girl at a bus stop

In the Rostov region, a foreign citizen tried to rape a 14-year-old schoolgirl, a pedophile was taken into custody. This was reported in the press service of the SU IC Russia by region.

"The court granted the investigator's petition to elect a preventive measure in the form of detention for the suspect in the commission of illegal actions against a 14-year-old girl. The person involved in the case has been placed in a pre—trial detention center," the report said.

According to the investigation, the man saw the girl at a public transport stop in the village of Shchepkin, Aksai district. The foreigner tried to rape her, but he was scared off by passers-by. According to local media, the incident occurred on September 16. The schoolgirl screamed, adults came to her aid, who called the police.

A criminal case was opened against the man under part 3 of Article 30, paragraph "a" of part 3 of Article 131 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (attempted rape).

The chairman of the Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, took control of this criminal case, instructing the head of the regional headquarters of the Investigative Committee to provide a report on the progress of the investigation.
