The deputy commander of the Leningrad Military District, Major General Valery Mumindzhanov, was detained, who is accused of receiving a bribe in the amount of more than 20 million rubles for concluding contracts for the supply of uniforms. This was reported by the press service RF IC.

"The Main Military Investigation Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation has opened a criminal case against the deputy commander of the Leningrad Military District for logistics, Major General Valery Mumindzhanov, on the grounds of a crime under Part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (receiving a bribe on an especially large scale)," the report says.

According to the investigation, having previously held the position of head of the Department of Resource Support of the Ministry of Defense and being responsible for the clothing support of the Armed Forces, Mumindzhanov facilitated the conclusion of contracts with commercial organizations for the supply of uniforms in the interests of the military department, including to the territory of the SMO, in the amount of more than 1.5 billion rubles. For the commission of this assistance, he received a bribe in an especially large amount totaling over 20 million rubles.

"During the investigative actions, it was established that Mumindzhanov and his family members own numerous real estate objects in Moscow and Voronezh worth more than 120 million rubles, the legality of the acquisition of which is being checked, " the department said.

They noted that Mumindzhanov is currently detained, the issue of choosing a preventive measure for him is being resolved.

According to the Shot telegram channel, a one-bedroom apartment in Voronezh and an old SUV, all this costs about 10 million. The remaining 110 million of property reported by the UK is recorded "differently":

"The former head of the Department of Resource Support of the Ministry of Defense owned an apartment with an area of 54 square meters. m in a military town in Voronezh, where he was the head of the clothing service of the material support brigade of the 20th Army, as well as the Land Rover Freelander car," writes TK.

It is indicated that Mumindzhanov oversaw the material and technical support of troops stationed not only on the territory of Russia, but also abroad, in particular, the grouping of troops in Syria and the peacekeeping contingent in Nagorno-Karabakh.

Two months ago, an army general who worked as deputy Defense Minister for 11 years and oversaw the system of Russian Defense Command Centers was dismissed from his post. Popov forced the ministry's contractors to do work for him for free.

Popov was the third deputy minister arrested. Deputy Minister and Army General Dmitry Bulgakov, Deputy Minister Timur Ivanov, Lieutenant General Yuri Kuznetsov, Lieutenant General Vadim Shamarin and former commander of the 58th Army and Major General Ivan Popov were also detained.
