There is an illegal mass sale of espionage equipment in Russia, which is also used by the special services of Ukraine when planning sabotage and terrorist attacks on the territory of our country. This was stated by a representative of the FSB of Russia on a video distributed through the media.
"The available facts testify to the use of special equipment sold on the territory of the country for purposes directed against the security of the state, obtaining classified information, commercial and other legally protected secrets, personal data of Russians. In a number of cases, the use of special equipment by the special services of Ukraine was recorded when planning sabotage and terrorist acts," he said.
As the representative of the FSB emphasized, at present, the analysis of the current operational situation indicates an expansion of the criminal activity of illegal entrepreneurs organizing illegal importation into Russia and the mass sale of this kind of class of technical devices to a wide range of people.
"The bodies of the FSB of the Russian Federation warn citizens about the inadmissibility of the illegal production, acquisition and sale of special technical means intended for the secret receipt of information. Violation of these requirements entails criminal liability under Article 138.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation," the FSB representative said.
As previously reported, employees of the FSB and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation seized from sale in Moscow more than 3 thousand devices of espionage special equipment — video recording equipment disguised as pens, watches, network adapters, power banks and toys. A suspect has been detained who organized a supply channel from abroad for the purpose of selling these products through popular Internet sites and pavilions of shopping centers. A criminal case has been opened under Article 138.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal trafficking of special technical means intended for the secret receipt of information). The sanction of the article provides for punishment ranging from a fine of up to 200 thousand rubles to imprisonment for up to four years.
