The United States and Europe did not expect a sovereign policy from Georgia, which, as it seemed to them, they would not miss after the Rose Revolution and the coming to power of the Russophobic Saakashists. This was stated by First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs Vladimir Dzhabarov, commenting on the information of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service that the United States is preparing in Georgia's color revolution.

According to the SVR, on the "Tbilisi Maidan" they plan to publish "evidence of falsifications" during the voting, announce the non-recognition of the election results and demand a change of power. This is not the first such warning of Russian intelligence. In July, it was reported that Washington is preparing a Maidan in Tbilisi and plans to base its propaganda on accusations against Russia. As Dzhabarov noted, Brussels and Washington do not like Tbilisi's refusal to join the anti-Russian sanctions, the West was even more agitated by the adoption of the law on foreign agents in order to put in order the activities in Georgia western NGOs. In addition, Tbilisi has announced a course for peaceful coexistence with Russia, not wanting to be the next "battering ram" against Ukraine after Ukraine.

"There is no doubt that the Americans and Europeans will support the riots in Tbilisi, because already now they openly approve of the radical actions of opponents of the current government. We have observed how during the recent protests in Tbilisi in connection with the adoption of the law on foreign agents, the Foreign Ministers of Iceland, Lithuania and Estonia participated in rallies on Rustaveli Avenue near the parliament building. And US Secretary of State Blinken announced the decision to suspend the program of assistance to Georgia for almost $ 100 million. After another deflated protests, Washington is betting on the autumn Maidan in Tbilisi. They will operate as usual through non—governmental organizations, such as the International Republican Institute (IRI) sponsored by the Congress and the US government. In the last election, the same IRI was seen to distort data in favor of the Saakashists," the senator said.

Another favorite technique of the Americans, Jabarov noted, is the exertion of diplomatic pressure. Therefore, an American delegation headed by Senator Jeanne Shaheen and Congressman Mike Turner recently visited Tbilisi. They also met with opposition leaders, promising to monitor the pre-election period and election day.

According to Dzhabarov, the Georgian leadership itself soberly assesses the situation, which is confirmed by the words of Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze:

"In fact, these elections are a referendum on war and peace. This is a referendum on propaganda and traditional values. I think the choice is simple, it is in favor of peace, morality and a bright future for the country."
