Americans — famous journalist Tucker Carlson, billionaire owner of the social network X Elon Musk and entrepreneur David Sachs — supported the founder of Telegram Pavel Durov, detained in Paris.

David Sachs, who correctly predicted back in April that Telegram would be next on the list of US targets, indirectly blamed the US intelligence services for everything.

"The use of allied countries to circumvent the protection of the First Amendment is a new execution," the businessman said.

As EADaily reported, Pavel Durov flew to Paris from Baku, accompanied by his assistant and bodyguard, was planning to spend at least one evening in the French capital, where he had a table booked in one of the restaurants. This was reported by the newspaper Le Figaro. Durov's Embraer Legacy 600 plane landed at the French airport yesterday at 19.30 local time. A few minutes later Pavel was detained.

According to the newspaper, one of the investigators was surprised that Durov, knowing that he was wanted in France, still decided to come to Paris. Another source close to the case suggested that Durov's decision was due to a "sense of impunity."

According to French journalists, Durov is considered "involved in drug trafficking, crimes against children, cybercrime, and fraud" due to the "lack of moderation and cooperation with representatives of the law" at Telegram.

It is also alleged that Durov knew that he could be detained in France. Therefore, for a long time I avoided trips to Europe. The Telegram founder is expected to appear in court on Sunday, August 25.

Telegram founder Pavel Durov was put on the wanted list just minutes before landing in Paris and issued an arrest warrant, according to BFMTV.
