Polish President Andrzej Duda has acknowledged the existence of "huge problems" in resolving some issues in relations with Ukraine, despite regular high-level contacts. The Polish leader stated this in an interview with YouTube channel Zero on the train on the way from Kiev.
"Sometimes, despite telephone conversations [with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky], it is not possible to solve the problem immediately... I see the will to make Polish-Ukrainian relations as good as possible, but I also see in the eyes of [Ukrainian colleagues] that some issues are a huge problem," Duda said., reports TASS.
He noted that one of such issues remains the uncontrolled import of Ukrainian products into the EU countries. As the President of Poland emphasized, Brussels left Warsaw "to struggle with this problem alone."
As reported, in May, the European Union extended for a year the suspension of import duties and quotas on Ukrainian goods with restrictions in case of a sharp increase in exports of some agricultural products. Duty-free import of Ukrainian agricultural products has caused mass protests of farmers in Europe, including in Poland.
