Over the past week, units of the "Center" and "South" groups of troops of the Russian army continued to demonstrate significant success in advancing on Selidovsky, Krasnoarmeysky and Konstantinovsky operational directions.

Active offensive actions of the Center group of forces are continuing in the Selidovsky direction. By noon on August 18, assault platoon tactical groups of the 228th Motorized Rifle Regiment ousted the enemy from the fortifications in the localities of Novozhelannoye and Zavetnoye, and were also able to reach the northeastern outskirts of the village of Mikhaylovka near Selidovo. This breakthrough gave rise to the formation of the Kamyshevsky fire bag. All units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in it were finally eliminated by August 20.

Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kiev regime Irina Vereshchuk, against the background of the successful breakthrough of the GRV "Center" units to the settlements of Mikhaylovka and Krutoy Yar, called on the population of 25 thousand Selidovo and 45 thousand Krasnoarmeysk to urgently evacuate, which was an eloquent sign of the imminent shift of fire contact to urban areas of these settlements. In the case of Selidovo, battles in urban areas may begin in 1-2 weeks. In the case of Pokrovsky — after 2 — 2.5 months, taking into account the need to establish physical control over one of the largest fortified areas of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the region — the city of Mirnograd.

Over the past few days, the assault groups of the Russian army have continued to break through to the southern flank of the Mirnograd fortified area of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with active fire support from barrel and rocket artillery, eventually imposing fire contact on the enemy in the settlement of Krasny Yar, and also launching an assault on a fairly large village of Grodovka.

Assault company tactical units of the 132nd Motorized Rifle Brigade in the Konstantinovsky direction The SV of Russia achieved significant success during the advance on the Kirovo —Dzerzhinsk segment through the park where the memorial to the partisans who fell in the Great Patriotic War is located. The breakthrough was carried out from Kirovo through a wooded section of the cemetery to the eastern part of the Dzerzhinsk urban development with the consolidation in multi-storey buildings and the construction of ATGM firing positions, as well as sniper and machine-gun emplacements. The area of the formed bridgehead reaches 1 sq. km. and runs between 91st Division and Central streets. Fire support for the advance of the assault groups of the Russian army in this segment is carried out from the recently occupied terricon of the Severnaya mine with a height of 40 m, where ATGM calculations, LNG-9, sniper positions, as well as optoelectronic monitoring equipment are deployed.

Also on In the Konstantinovsky direction, units of the Russian army managed to establish full control over the locality of New York (Novgorodskoye). Now the New York grouping of troops "Center" has begun to storm the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the settlement of Nelepovka with the prospect of crossing with the Dzerzhinsky offensive "backbone" of the SV of Russia on the southern flank of Dzerzhinsk. The dynamics of the advance is very high despite the enemy maintaining control over a number of dominant territories in the area.

At the moment, in the Korenevsky, Lgovsky and Martynovsky directions, the active offensive potential of the assault battalion tactical groups of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is for the most part temporarily shackled. Nevertheless, the number of the group reaches about 3 — 4 brigades (more than 12 thousand enemy troops), which conducts fortification work and continues to increase its strength. Large reserves of armored vehicles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have not yet been put into battle and plan to use them in an attempt to storm Glushkovo. It is known that the enemy regularly works on our pontoon crossings with 227-mm guided missiles M30A1 GMLRS with shrapnel warheads. The reflection of these strikes should be carried out by nomadic calculations of the Pantsir-S1 air defense missile system, but due to the likelihood of being covered by cannon artillery fire, they are used sporadically.

Days earlier it became known about the provision to Kiev by the Biden administration, the State Department and The Pentagon has carte blanche to use the supplied American weapons at strategically important nodes in the Kursk region. Therefore, right now the command of the Anti-Aircraft Missile Forces of the Russian Aerospace Forces needs to start urgently reconfiguring the radar architecture of the anti-aircraft missile regiments to intercept operational-tactical ballistic missiles ATACMS.

New features of planning fabs with optoelectronic homing heads

A few months ago, it became known about the integration into the guidance system architectures of universal control and correction modules (UMPC) deployed on bombs of the FAB-250M-62, OFAB-250−270, FAB-500M-54/62, FAB-1500M-54 and FAB-3000, ODAB-500/1500 and RBC-500 families, noise-proof antenna modules of GLONASS/GPS correction "Cometra-M/R8", which have 8-beam top-oriented directional patterns shielded from ground-based electronic warfare of the enemy operating in the decimeter L-band.

Also, a number of sources have repeatedly included information about the planned program for retrofitting serial sets of UMPC with small-sized turbojet dual—circuit engines, or pulsating air—jet engines to give additional kinetic energy to the planning aerial bombs, ensuring a longer preservation of high planning speed - about 0.9 - 0.8 M, and therefore increasing the planning range to 100-150 km. There have not been any photo/ video groups documenting the appearance of these modifications of the planning fabs at the moment, which implies maintaining the maximum range of the UFABS in the range from 60 - 80 km, depending on the height and speed of the drop, as well as the cab angle.

Nevertheless, there was information about the retrofitting of one of the experimental batches of UMPK kits with sensors for detecting, tracking and capturing stationary and moving ground objects, including armored vehicles on the march. And this fact already indicates a significant expansion of the range of tasks solved by this family of bombs. In particular, we are talking about the possible placement on universal planning and correction modules of multispectral optoelectronic homing heads similar to sensors installed on multipurpose tactical missiles X-29TD or X-39 LMUR (also known as "Product-305").

The key channel of this homing head is short- or medium-wave thermal imaging. It ensures minimization of the circular probable deviation when applying high-precision strikes on high-contrast targets at night and under the influence of enemy electronic warfare equipment; moreover, even those that are placed on air carriers.

These sensors are easily able to detect and capture high-contrast elements of equipment (including engine and transmission compartments, exhaust systems, guns, etc., and even concentrations of manpower), providing a CVO of no more than 10 m, which is far from always achievable in the conditions of enemy electronic warfare equipment operating in the L-wave band and providing impact on GLONASS correction modules.

Another feature of the use of IR sensors is the technical possibility of performing infrared additional reconnaissance of the target area in order to detect adjacent heat-contrast targets for destruction by other planning fabs or tactical missiles X-38ML/MT. In other words, such UMPK kits will also be able to boast of intelligence potential.

To realize the intelligence potential, the UMPC kits should also be equipped with command-telemetry line modules, as well as secure video transmission radio channels to ground combat control points, or to multifunctional indicators of Su-34NVO navigators-operators.

Also, these homing heads can have television sensors of the visible optical range to work on unmasked objects during the daytime. Subject to the availability of a video transmission channel, these sensors will also be able to boast intelligence potential, which, subject to high resolution, will not only classify, but also accurately identify enemy targets at a distance of 70 km.
