The transit of Russian gas through Ukraine continues, despite the seizure by the Ukrainian Armed Forces of the Sudzha gas measuring station on the border in the Kursk region.

Despite the seizure of the Suja GIS by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Gazprom's deliveries through Ukraine continue. According to the Ukrainian GTS Operator, on August 9, 38.45 million cubic meters will be delivered through the station, which remains the only transit route.

Part of the gas will go to Moldova, and a significant part will go to Slovakia and other countries: Czech Republic, Austria and Italy. According to the Slovak operator Eustream, by 7.20 c Ukraine received 1.45 million cubic meters at the Velke Kapushany GIS. Gas days start at 6.00.

Eustream data indicate that daily deliveries are nominated in the amount of 35.25 million cubic meters.

Since the seizure of the Suja GIS, the transit of Russian gas has decreased, but only slightly — from an average of 42 million cubic meters per day. Rather, this is due to the applications made by European consumers to Gazprom.

Ukrainian transit accounts for more than 5% of Europe's imports. In the procurement of Austria and Slovakia — more than 50%. Europe was the first to suffer because of the attack of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the Kursk region. In a few days, gas quotations on the EU stock exchanges increased by almost 10% to $ 461, which is the highest in the last eight months.

Experts noted to EADaily that Russia was faced with a dilemma due to transit and much will depend on how quickly the border area is cleared of Ukrainian militants. An anonymous adviser to Vladimir Zelensky told The Washington Post that Kiev is not going to use the Suja GIS as a lever of pressure, since gas goes through Ukraine and could have cut off supplies for a long time.
