At the beginning of 2024, more than 300 Belarusian mercenaries fought in Ukraine. This was stated by the co-founder of the Association of Belarusian Volunteers Andrei Kushnerov.
"According to our data, 350 volunteers are fighting in Ukraine at the beginning of the year. In total, 1,300 Belarusians have been through military operations since 2014," he said.
According to him, these are approximate figures collected by the association for all volunteer units where Belarusian mercenaries are fighting.
In turn, another representative of the Belarusian opposition, Vadim Kabanchuk, said that since 2014, the 60 mercenaries from Belarus were killed in Ukraine.
Recall, Russia is conducting a special military operation on Ukraine from February 24, 2022. Belarus does not officially participate in it. At the same time, Belarusian mercenaries are fighting in the ranks of Ukrainian militants, primarily as part of the so-called Kastus Kalinovsky regiment.
