Explosions thundered in Kiev and the Kiev region against the background of an air alert, the Mirror of the Week and the RBC-Ukraine portal reported.
According to the "Mirror of the Week", air defense is operating in the capital, as well as in the area of the cities of Brovary and Boryspil in the Kiev region. An air alert has been declared in the vicinity of Kiev.
The Russian Defense Ministry emphasizes that strikes are carried out only on military and energy facilities of Ukraine and related infrastructure.
On the night of July 31, an air defense system was activated in the Ukrainian capital. The mayor of Kiev Vitali Klitschko urged residents to hide in shelters. Later, the telegram channel of the Kiev regional military administration reported that information about explosions in the capital or about the work of air defense is not true. The authorities urged to trust "only reliable and competent sources," says RBC.
