The Perm nuclear-powered submarine, equipped with Zircon hypersonic missiles, presented by Russian President Vladimir Putin, is of serious concern to NATO. It is reported by the French newspaper Le Figaro.
"The American press often called these submarines a NATO nightmare," the publication quoted by <url> as saying.
It is noted that Zircons significantly increase the combat potential of Yasen-M submarines, since they are more difficult to intercept compared to slower Caliber missiles. This creates additional problems for the fleets of Western countries.
As EADaily reported, on March 27, the launching ceremony of the new Perm nuclear-powered submarine, armed with Zircon hypersonic cruise missiles, took place. This was reported by the Kremlin's press service.
Russian President Vladimir Putin, who took part in the ceremony via video link on the territory of Atomflot, gave permission to launch the submarine.
