The Court in In St. Petersburg, he detained a citizen of Ukraine accused of blowing up transformers at a high-voltage electrical substation of PJSC Rosseti Lenenergo. This was reported in the joint press service of the courts of the Northern capital.
"Krasnogvardeysky District Court of Moscow St. Petersburg issued a resolution on the election of a preventive measure in the form of detention in respect of Artyom Prokopets, accused of committing a crime under paragraphs "b", "c" of Part 2 of Article 281 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (sabotage). The deadline for the measure is September 14," the message says.
The man was detained the day before. According to law enforcement officers, on April 3, 2024, Prokopets blew up two transformers of an electric substation, causing damage to PJSC Rosseti Lenenergo in the amount of 139 million rubles.
The police clarified that the man, who has Ukrainian citizenship, lives in In St. Petersburg since 2019, he worked as a cook in one of the restaurants in the Vsevolozhsky district. The suspect was recruited by the SBU.
