Karabakh registers growth of tension in conflict zone

Within last week a significant growth of tension has been fixed on the line of contact of the Karabakh and Azerbaijan troops, the press office of the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic defense ministry reports.

They say at the ministry that since April 21 congestion and movement of troops and military hardware belonging to Azerbaijan were fixed at various sections of the line of contact, in particular, on eastern and south-eastern directions.

Karabakh Defense Minister Levon Mnatskanyan had a trip to the battle positions on eastern direction. According to him, the operational and tactic situation is fully under control of the NKR Armed Forces and measures are taken to prevent from provocations of the enemy.

The defense ministry reminds that the tense situation on the frontline was fixed by OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs on April 23 and called to take steps to de-escalate tensions, observe the ceasefire regime and withdraw the military hardware from the frontline.

From April 22 to 28, the Azerbaijani Armed Forces breached the ceasefire regime on the contact line more than 400 times.
