To start a normal conversation and ascertain the truth, we have suggested convening extraordinary meeting of OPCW (Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons) Executive Council on April 4, during which we will raise specific questions on “Skripal case,” Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov made such statement on March 29.
“I expect that our Western partners will not avoid honest talk. Otherwise, it will be an evidence that everything that has happened is a provocation,” he said.
Lavrov said he was happy to hear from British government that Yulia Skripal was rapidly recovering. “We have repeatedly demanded to be provided access to Yulia, as she’s a Russian citizen,” the minister said. Hopefully, he added, Britain will implement its international commitments under Vienna Convention on Consular Relations and Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.
