All the fighter jets of Russia’s Air Force in Syria have returned to Khmeimim airfield after combat flights, Igor Konashenkov, the Russian Defense Ministry special representative, said when commenting on media reports that Turkey’s Air Forces downed unidentified drone on border with Syria.

According to Konashenkov, the Russian drones monitoring the situation in the territory of Syria and leading air reconnaissance operate on a scheduled basis.

Meantime, citing a U.S. official, Reuters reported that Washington suspected it was a Russian drone, but said the information was still preliminary and declined to give any more details.

EADaily reported earlier, the Turkey’s Air Force shot down an unidentified drone on the border with Syria. Turkey’s General Staff said its jets had shot down the aircraft after it continued on its trajectory despite three warnings.
