Presidential candidate in Poland says Poland and CIA were behind Maidan and Maidan snipers

Euromaidan in Kiev was organized by the special services, and the snipers that fired during the Maidan in February 2014 were trained in Poland. The statement came from EU Parliament Deputy, Leader of KORWiN Party, and presidential candidate Janusz Korwin-Mikke in an interview with Wiadomosci newspaper.

“It was CIA’s operation, but Maidan was also our operation. The snipers were trained in Poland. These terrorists shot 40 demonstrators and 20 police officers on the Maidan in order to provoke riots. The truth finds its way out,” the politician said.

“I sit in the EU Parliament next to Mr. Urmas Paet, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Estonia who acknowledged in a telephone conversation with Baroness Catherine Ashton that it was “our people” who shot on the Maidan, and not Yanukovych’s people, or Putin’s people. Trained by us, in Western countries.” The parliamentarian accepted that Vladimir Putin said it two months after Mr. Paet.

Asked about Poland’s interest in all that, Janusz Korwin-Mikke said Poland does a favor to Washington. “US State Department official Victoria Nuland openly admitted that the US spent $5 billion to destabilize the situation in Ukraine. We are dealing with US aggression in Ukraine. Putin is only pulling chestnuts out of the fire,” he said.

The Polish politician believes the Europeans, and Polish, particularly, should not be afraid of Russia. “Poland does not have a conflict of interests with Russia. We have no problems on the Polish-Russian border. Fostering a militaristic state of mind is not useful to us, only to the US,” Korwin-Mikke said.

As for the situation in Ukraine, the presidential candidate said Ukrainians, unfortunately, “can thank the Americans for all that…And Russia had no intention of taking anything away. It was also the ideal situation for us, because it is in Poland’s interest for Ukraine to exist as an independent state, but also a weak one. That’s what Maidan destroyed.”

Janusz Ryszard Korwin-Mikke is a conservative liberal, the creator and leader of the  political parties Congress of the New Right, Freedom and Lawfulness, Real Politics Union (UPR - Unia Polityki Realnej). Reportedly, he thinks that democracy is the "stupidest form of government ever conceived." He believes that the European civilization peaked in the 19th century, while the Islamic civilization will conquer the European Union soon. The politician believes Vladimir Putin is “strong and decisive and he would be a great president of Poland.”

Earlier, Ukraine’s Security Services said Russian presidential aide Vladislav Surkov was behind the Maidan snipers. In addition, according to the report of the CoE International Advisory Panel on Ukraine 31 March 2015, Kiev’s Report on Maidan violence investigation does not meet the requirements of the European Convention for Human Rights. Furthermore, it stands to reason that Ukraine’s Interior Ministry created obstacles to the effective investigation and the investigative bodies lacked a coordinated communication policy.

Previously, on January 26 2015, First Deputy head of the Interior Ministry’s Chief Investigations Department Vitaliy Sakal said Maidan activists Serhiy Nihoian and Mikhail Zhiznevskiy, who were among the first to be killed in the clashes in Kiev, were not shot by the police.  Nihoian was killed with shot from a hunting rifle - two shots in the chest and one in his head - and Zhiznevskiy was killed with a pistol - with a bullet to his heart. The police do not have such firearms,” the investigator said.  "It was also found that the dead bodies were removed, and the witnesses of the murder weren’t found."

“The investigation is also considering among other theories a murder in order to provoke an escalation of the conflict and justify the use of weapons by protesters. It is confirmed by numerous materials from public sources, where people with firearms were recorded," Sakal said.
