The military of the Russian Ministry of Defense destroyed a rare Ukrainian "Birch"

Russian units hit one of the rarest tanks in the Armed Forces of Ukraine — T-80UD "Birch" early series. The destruction of the equipment fell on the footage of the FPV drones, published by the Telegram channel "Turned on the war."

The machine captured on video is equipped with a mounted dynamic protection "Contact-1", which indicates that it belongs to the first years of production. In later modifications of the T-80UD, they already received the built-in Kontakt-5 protection. Ukraine inherited only 12 such tanks from the USSR, which makes each lost copy a sensitive loss.

The main difference between the T-80UD and the base T-80U is the 6TD diesel engine with a capacity of 1000 "horses", which replaced the gas turbine unit.
