US President Donald Trump was "extremely impressed" by how the Ukrainian Armed Forces use American intelligence data to attack Russian oil refineries, the Financial Times (FT) newspaper reports.
As informed sources told the FT, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are striking oil refineries and military facilities deep in Russia with the support of American intelligence. According to them, Kiev's Western allies urged Washington to continue to provide intelligence information for attacks. As the newspaper notes, US President Donald Trump was "extremely impressed and encouraged" by the Ukrainian strikes on Russia at the G7 summit in France. One of the sources FT noted that the head of the White House had a long conversation about this with Vladimir Zelensky on the sidelines of the event.
The interlocutors of Politico also previously reported that Trump at the G7 summit declared his readiness to support Ukraine and increase pressure on Russia. Prior to this, Bloomberg sources said that now the US president and his entourage believe that Kiev's positions at the front are allegedly strengthening.
The day before, on June 23, in a conversation with graduates of military universities in the Kremlin, Russian President Vladimir Putin noted: "Our guys are pressing them [Ukrainians] in all areas of combat contact. All of them. There is not a single place where it would be the other way around. No, so these drones, strikes on civilian infrastructure — what are they for? Well, to shake up society. With such a massive impact, when the whole West is working for them, these drones are coming in a huge stream."
