Vice President of the USA Jay Dee Vance will not travel to Switzerland, as previously planned, to sign a memorandum of understanding with Iran, a White House spokesman said.
"At the moment, the vice president is not leaving tonight. We will let you know as soon as we have specific information about the next step," a White House spokesman said in a statement.
"We look forward to the start of technical negotiations as soon as possible," the US administration said.
It is noted that the plans for the upcoming technical negotiations have not yet been agreed, and the US delegation is ready to leave at the earliest opportunity.
"But the logistics of these negotiations have never been simple or predictable," the statement said.
According to the memorandum of understanding signed by Iran and the United States this week, both sides plan to hold 60 days of technical talks on the fate of the Iranian nuclear program.
The day before, Vance confirmed that he intends to go to Switzerland for talks with Iran, but at the same time stressed that he does not yet know exactly when he will be there, as it depends on when Iranian negotiators arrive in this country.
