Latvia needs funding EU for the regions located on the eastern border of the republic to stop the outflow of population. This was announced today, June 19, by the head of the Latvian government Andris Kulbergs.
"The next financial package for the countries and regions on the eastern border… We need schools, as well as healthcare and housing. The problem is that we cannot allow people to leave these areas because of geopolitics," he told reporters in Brussels.
According to him, this situation "weakens the borders." In this regard, he called for special attention to be paid to this.
Recall that the Baltic countries and Finland are experiencing economic difficulties against the background of severing ties with Russia. At the same time, there is a significant outflow of population in the border regions of these countries.
