The United States launched a hunt for Russian citizens in Thailand. The relevant information was disseminated by the Russian Foreign Ministry. The agency urges compatriots in an Asian country to exercise caution.
According to the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the detentions of Russians are carried out without regard to the Thai authorities.
The ministry expressed regret that "this country, popular with Russian tourists and friendly to us, remains one of the places where Washington has launched a real "hunt" for Russians."
"At the same time, the United States is acting aggressively, without regard to the Thai authorities, conducting special operations to "catch" our citizens who have come to their attention for one reason or another," the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
The text states that the flywheel of Washington's punitive justice is gaining momentum especially intensively after the start of a special military operation.
"Against the background of the introduction of numerous extraterritorial sanctions aimed against strategic segments of the domestic economy, many Russians, without knowing it, risk being targeted by the Americans," the information further says.
Under the circumstances, the Russian Foreign Ministry strongly recommends that Russians who are in In Thailand, use maximum caution. And, if possible, refuse to travel to Thailand, which is bound to the United States by an extradition treaty, also avoids transfers at local airports. When traveling abroad, have contacts and coordinates of Russian foreign missions.
