The German authorities are deliberately seeking confrontation with Russia in order to distract everyone's attention from their failures. This was stated by the co-chair of the opposition right-wing party Alternative for Germany (AfD) Alice Weidel.
"So far, you have not demanded any response from Kiev about the undermining of the Nord Stream gas pipeline. The infrastructure vital for our economy was destroyed. And a lot of damage was done. Instead, you deliberately seek confrontation with Russia... to distract attention from your own failures," she said during a debate in the Bundestag.
She noted that the German authorities often talk about the war and want to drag their own country into the conflict. In this regard, Weidel called for finally starting a dialogue about peace, not war.
Recall that explosions on two Russian export gas pipelines to Europe — Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 — occurred on September 26, 2022. Later it became known that Ukraine was involved in the sabotage. Despite this, Berlin has not made any official claims against Kiev.
