Western experts have seen the recent exercises of the Russian Baltic Fleet as a test of strikes against NATO forces. This is written by a military magazine from the USA Military Watch Magazine (MWM).
According to the publication, Su-30SM2 fighters assigned to the Chernyakhovsk airfield in the Kaliningrad region were used to practice strikes. More than ten combat aircraft, including Su-24M bombers, took part in the maneuvers.
The fighters allegedly simulated strikes on military convoys of NATO member countries, command posts, concentrations of personnel, military-industrial facilities and warships.
In April, the same magazine reported that a pair of Russian Tu-22M3 bombers, accompanied by Su-30SM and Su-35 over the Baltic Sea, were "met" by fighters from six NATO states at once.
