The winner of the Eurovision Song Contest denied the contribution of the People's Artist of Russia to her success

Bulgarian singer DARA (Darina Yotova), who won the last in In the International Song Contest "Eurovision-2026" with the song Bangaranga refuted the contribution of the singer, People's Artist of Russia Philip Kirkorov to his success. This is reported by the portal actualno.com .

Earlier, in a publication on his page on the social network, Kirkorov stated that Bulgaria had not participated in the competition for 6 years due to the inability to allocate BNT funding. (Bulgarian National Television) for participation and contribution to the organizer of the competition EBU (European Broadcasting Union). However, last year Kirkorov held a meeting with the CEO of BNT and promised to bring an investor. According to him, the singer was prepared for the performance by the Dream team founded by him 22 years ago. He also expressed gratitude to the authors of the Bangaranga song, producer Ilias Kokotos and composer Dimitris Kontopoulos.

DARA, in a response publication, thanked Kirkorov for his "moral support," but stressed that "the success of this project is the result of incredible work, talent and dedication" of her team.

The singer also noted that the song Bangaranga was written in 2023 during the Sofia Songwriting Camp — 3 years before Bulgaria's triumphant return to Eurovision in 2026.

As EADaily reported, Kirkorov told the RIA Novosti portal that "he is happy to be on the way to creating a team that today brought my historic homeland a grand victory."

Kirkorov clarified that he was not directly involved in the process of preparing the Bulgarian singer for the contest, but watched it from the sidelines.
