The Russian Ambassador in London called an acceptable option for resolving the conflict on Ukraine

Russian Ambassador to the UK Andrei Kelin called the option of a political settlement of the Ukrainian conflict acceptable to Moscow, Sky News reports.

According to Kelin, this could be a comprehensive settlement and the conclusion of a new agreement between Europe and Russia on European security issues. In this case, as the diplomat noted, Ukraine will have ties with both sides and will become a neutral state in accordance with its Constitution.

In an interview with the TV channel, the ambassador also outlined other scenarios for the end of the conflict, which are considered by different parties.

One of them is that Ukraine will become part of NATO and the European Union. He called this option a "fantasy" and stated that it was not realizable. To the clarifying question of whether this is a red line for Russia, he replied that with regard to the European Union, no, but with regard to NATO, of course.

"But as far as I see, the attitude of various countries of the European Union to this is very skeptical. But we have no influence on this," he added.

The second option is to preserve Ukraine as an instrument against Russia, however, as he noted, this "cannot last forever."

Kelin called the third option — the conclusion of a new treaty between Europe and Russia and the formation of a new European security architecture — the most practical and serious.
