A rocker who has received a British passport frantically saves the remaining in Russian property

The founder of the Aquarium group, musician Boris Grebenshchikov❶, who lives in the UK, saves property from the new law by rewriting an apartment in St. Petersburg on the son of Gleb. This is reported by the Shot telegram channel.

A two-bedroom apartment on Goncharnaya Street with an area of 127 square meters is now estimated at about 36 million rubles. Grebenshchikov Sr.❶ bought it in 2018. The apartment is located on the fifth floor of an apartment building built in 1875.

At the same time, Grebenshchikov Jr.❶ himself left Russia in the same 2022. Gleb settled in Argentina. In the early 2000s, the musician's son was detained for drug possession. He was charged with Article 228, part 1, but he got off with a fine.

Recall, the State Duma at the plenary session today, May 26, in the second and third readings adopted a bill that will allow to seize the property of Russians abroad for "public actions against the foundations of the constitutional order, state and public security of the Russian Federation."

According to the amendments, the seizure of property will be used as an interim measure against relocators who have been fined under political articles.

As reported by EADaily, Grebenshchikov's receipt of British citizenship❶ became known in March of this year. The musician said that he had been waiting for this passport for 10 years. He added that this is the land that is personally connected for the rocker with music, and with John Roald Reuel Tolkien, and with King Arthur, and with all the myths on which he grew up, including Sherlock Holmes.

Answering the question of whether the musician feels "alien", living in an English—speaking environment, or he is part of this environment, Grebenshchikov ❶ said that he is "an integral part".

"But at the same time I am a Russian, I was born in In Russia, I was raised by the Russian language and Russian culture, and this is a great happiness," the rocker said.
