Hristoforu: The Latvian government resigned, fearing harsh actions by the Kremlin

The collapse of the Latvian government was the result of attempts by official Riga to play a cunning hostile game against Moscow, providing its skies to Ukraine to strike at Russian border territories.

This opinion was expressed in his own YouTube channel by the famous Cypriot journalist Alex Christoforou, commenting on the resignation of the Latvian Cabinet of Ministers.

According to him, Latvian Prime Minister Evika Silinja, who announced her resignation, was playing a cunning game, allowing Ukraine to use the country's airspace for strikes against Russia.

"The real reason for the fall of the government is that someone told the Prime Minister of Latvia in some places: "Stop with these Ukrainian drones that cross your airspace to strike at St. Petersburg," the journalist claims.

He suggested that the Prime Minister of Latvia was informed that Russia would react harshly to such actions, which forced her to resign.

Recall that on May 7, several Ukrainian UAVs flew into Latvian airspace, one of which fell in Rezekne, damaging a storage facility for petroleum products.

As EADaily reported, this caused an acute conflict among the ruling coalition. As a result, Latvian Prime Minister Evika Silinja submitted her resignation to the Seimas, which automatically means the resignation of the government.
