The construction of a new power transmission line between Estonia and Latvia has been postponed indefinitely. Also, the project of the third power cable between Estonia and Finland was postponed in time.
"The operator of the Elering power system continues to prepare the project, but the final investment decision has been postponed," ERR reports.
It was planned that the power transmission line between the countries would be built before 2038, but now the dates are not called, the publication said.
"The company explains that the delay is due to the revision of broader regional energy projects," writes ERR.
The work on the third power cable between Estonia and Finland has also shifted in time. Fins proposed to postpone the launch also by 2038.
"Elering notes that further decisions on new international power transmission lines will be made synchronously — both in the direction of Latvia and Finland," the ERR added.
