The US authorities under President Donald Trump utter many correct words about the prospects for mutually beneficial cooperation with Russia, but in fact they continue the line of Joe Biden. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in an interview with RT India.

"There are many correct words that Russia and the United States have great prospects for mutually beneficial, modern, technological, energy and other projects. But in fact nothing happens. In fact, apart from this regular dialogue, which is normal in communication between people and states, everything else is the same line that Joe Biden started. All the sanctions against Russia adopted under him remain in force. Moreover, the Donald Trump administration is already adopting its own initiatives for economic "punishment" Russia," Lavrov said.

Answering a question about US sanctions against Russian oil companies and Russian supplies to India, the minister noted that "India has nothing to do with it at all."

"It was an illegal, illegitimate decision of the United States. And all this was done under the pretext of Ukraine. US President Donald Trump has repeatedly said that Ukraine is Joe Biden's war, not his war," the Russian Foreign Minister said.
"We appreciate that President Donald Trump has started a dialogue with us, with Russian President Vladimir Putin. We have also communicated at other levels — the Secretary of State and yours truly, the assistant to the President of Russia is meeting with the special representative of President Donald Trump," he added.

As EADaily reported, the visit of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov to India, where he will also take part in the THE BRICS Ministerial Council.
