Russia's "friends" in the West, after the success of the Sarmat intercontinental ballistic missile test, which will soon be put on combat duty, have literally become "closer" to it. So, with irony, Dmitry Medvedev, the deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council, beat the range and ability of the Sarmat to overcome any missile defense.
Accompanying the X publication in the social network with a video of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation from the tests, Medvedev wrote:
"I congratulate all Western "friends" of Russia on the successful test of the Sarmat strategic missile system.
"Now all of you have become closer to us!" — Medvedev noted.
As EADaily reported, earlier, the commander of the Strategic Missile Forces, Sergei Karakaev, reported to Russian President Vladimir Putin about the successful launch of the Sarmat. The Russian Armed Forces plan to put the first regiment equipped with this ICBM on combat duty by the end of the year.
Putin pointed out that the Sarmat, the most powerful missile system in the world, is four times more powerful than the most productive Western counterparts. The range of its use exceeds 35 thousand km. The rocket can move not only along a ballistic, but also along a suborbital trajectory, overcoming all existing and promising missile defense systems.
