Vilnius insists on the timely delivery of weapons to the United States. This was stated by the head of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic Robertas Kaunas.
Earlier, the United States warned the Lithuanian authorities about long delays in the supply of weapons. This is explained by the fact that Washington is trying to replenish the reserves depleted by the war against Iran.
"We are doing everything possible to put pressure on the manufacturers of the systems we purchase so that the ordered volumes (of weapons) arrive on time. When the whole world orders at the same time, we are well aware that it is quite difficult. Our region is indeed a priority, since we are part of the eastern flank of NATO, and this is constantly emphasized at various meetings," Kaunas said.
He also stressed that everything possible is being done to avoid delays.
