Investigators have solved a murder committed in 1994 in Moscow. The shooter was a native of Ukraine. Now they're looking for him. This was reported in the capital's UK.
"The Department for the Investigation of particularly important cases of the Investigation Department for the North-Western Administrative District of the Main Investigation Department The Investigative Committee of Russia in Moscow has completed the investigation of a criminal case against a native of Ukraine. He is accused in absentia of committing crimes under Article 103 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR (premeditated murder), part 1 of Article 218 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR (illegal carrying, possession of firearms (except smoothbore hunting), ammunition without appropriate permission), " the report says.
The investigation established that on December 22, 1994, the defendant in a state of alcoholic intoxication, being on the landing of a residential building on Fruitovaya Street in Moscow, guided by the personal hostile relations that had arisen, fired at least one shot from a revolver at his acquaintance. The victim died from the injuries received at the scene, and the person involved disappeared.
The investigators analyzed the materials of the criminal case, as well as carefully examined the collected evidence, additionally questioned witnesses and conducted a number of complex forensic examinations.
"In the course of additional investigative actions and operational search activities, it was possible to establish the identity of the person involved. He was charged in absentia and a preventive measure in the form of detention was chosen," the department said.
The criminal case was sent to the court for consideration on the merits. The accused is wanted.
