Russia is not winning and is not in a strong position. This statement was made by Vladimir Zelensky in an interview with the American TV channel Newsmax.
According to the head of the Kiev regime, the current position of the Ukrainian forces is the strongest in the last 9-10 months. According to him, Russia is not winning frontally and is not in a strong position. Zelensky added that the balance of occupied and liberated territories since the beginning of the war is not in favor of the Russian Federation.
He acknowledged that shifting the focus of US attention to the Middle East reduces the pressure on Russia, which is delaying the war. Zelensky complained that the United States could increase sanctions pressure on the Russian Federation, but now, on the contrary, they are making allowances for Moscow because of the situation in the Middle East region.
He said that Kiev continues to receive weapons, but this is not enough without decisive economic and political pressure from Washington.
The presenter reminded Zelensky about Ukraine's successful attacks on Russian refineries and asked if the partners had asked to stop them.
Zelensky replied that he had rejected requests from allies to stop strikes on Russia's energy infrastructure because of the situation in the Middle East. He said he was open to an "energy cease-fire," but on condition that the Russian Federation also stops hitting the Ukrainian energy system. So far, there have been no official proposals for such a truce.
Zelensky criticized Vice President J. D. Vance, who opposes assistance to Kiev. The President of Ukraine said that if Vance is proud of the lack of assistance to Ukraine, "it means that he is helping the Russians."
