After the attack of the APU drones on Tuapse, an oil slick was discovered in the Black Sea. This is the second recent case of environmental incidents related to the Ukrainian attacks.
"On April 19, an oil slick was recorded in the sea in a satellite image, one and a half miles from the port of Tuapse. These are the consequences of the UAV attack launched on the night of April 16, as a result of which the infrastructure of the sea terminal was damaged,"the Operational Headquarters of the Krasnodar Territory reports.
According to him, the area of pollution of the water area is estimated by experts to be 10 thousand square meters.
"Booms have been set up for localization. 6 vessels of the port of G. were involved in the elimination of the consequences of the state of emergency. Tuapse — high-speed boats and oil garbage collectors, " the headquarters reports.
Also, the collection of petroleum products continues in the Tuapse River.
"Oil products got there because of a fire at the marine terminal on the night of the attack on April 16. The spill in the river was localized. 750 meters of booms and 5 special collection devices have been installed, an oil trap has been equipped," the headquarters added.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces are massively attacking Russian oil terminals in the Black Sea with drones in order to disrupt exports from Russia. And earlier, an environmental incident occurred near Anapa. An oil slick was found near the resort, and emissions of petroleum products began again on the beaches of the resort. The Operational Headquarters of the Krasnodar Territory reported that this time the emissions were not related to the collapse of tankers in December 2024, but to attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on civilian vessels.
