Berlin needs to pursue a more realistic policy towards Kiev. This was stated by the co-chair of the Alternative for Germany party (AfD) Alice Weidel.
Weidel criticized the recent visit of Vladimir Zelensky to Germany. According to her, closer cooperation with Ukraine on the issue of defense and post-war reconstruction means that German taxpayers' money will go to Kiev. She believes that instead of spending billions of euros to prolong foreign wars, Germany needs help "inside the country."
"Instead of another blank check, we finally need a realistic peace policy," she said.
Recall that in mid-April Zelensky visited Germany. During his visit, Berlin and Kiev signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of defense and a memorandum of understanding.
