Russian President Vladimir Putin has expressed condolences to Chinese President Xi Jinping over the human casualties caused by the earthquake in the Tibet Autonomous Region of China. This is reported by the Kremlin website.
"Dear Mr. Chairman, please accept my most sincere condolences in connection with the tragic consequences of the earthquake in the Tibet Autonomous Region of China. Russia shares the grief of those who lost their loved ones as a result of this natural disaster, and also hopes for the speedy recovery of all those affected," the Russian leader's telegram says.
An earthquake of magnitude 7.1 occurred in the Tibet Autonomous Region of China on the border with Nepal. The epicenter was located 163 km southwest of the city of Shigatse with a population of about 80 thousand people. The hearth lay at a depth of 10 km.
According to the latest data, the death toll was 95 people, 130 injured.
There is no information about the dead or injured Russians.
