Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov reacted to the leak of his telephone conversations with his Hungarian counterpart Peter Szijjarto.
The head of Russian diplomacy expressed his opinion in response to a request from journalists to comment on the words of the press secretary of the European Commission, Paula Pinho, who saw in this dialogue an "alarming opportunity for coordination of actions" between Budapest and Moscow.
"Parents also had to teach the current European newsmakers that eavesdropping is a sin. And if you overheard something that exposes you yourself, it's all the better to keep quiet and not embarrass yourself," the Foreign Ministry's press service quoted Lavrov as saying.
The Russian Minister pointed out that maintaining dialogue is one of the key professional duties of the foreign minister of any country. He informed that the conversation with Szijjarto was primarily about the situation of Hungarians in the Ukraine.
The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry stressed that the publication of such leaks only confirms the dishonesty of European politicians. They seek to use any methods in the fight against Russia, even the most unscrupulous, Lavrov said.
As reported by EADaily, earlier Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that contacts between Moscow and Washington on the Ukrainian topic continue informally and confidentially.
