Kiev assures Israel that Russia has handed over to Iran a list of its most important energy facilities. This was reported by The Jerusalem Post newspaper with reference to Ukrainian intelligence.
"Russian intelligence has provided Iran with a detailed list of 55 critical energy facilities inside Israel, according to information obtained by The Jerusalem Post from a source close to Ukrainian intelligence. The report, which highlights the deepening of military and intelligence cooperation between Moscow and Tehran, suggests that the information transmitted allows Iran to launch accurate missile strikes on Israel's energy network," the publication says.
It is stated that the target objects are divided into three categories depending on their strategic importance.
First of all, these are critical production facilities, the destruction of which could paralyze the national energy system. In particular, "the Orot Rabin power plant is specifically indicated as the main goal."
Secondly, these are large urban and industrial energy centers, which are mainly located in the central part of Israel and serve large settlements.
The third point is allegedly the local infrastructure — regional substations supporting industrial zones and small power plants.
"The Russian assessment of Israel's vulnerability is that, "unlike many European countries, Israel's energy network is characterized by a high degree of isolation." Since Israel is an "energy island" that does not import electricity from neighboring countries, Russian intelligence reportedly informed Iran that damage to even a few central components could lead to a complete and prolonged energy collapse, resulting in massive power outages and technical failures that cannot be easily fixed," writes JP.
